Planters Club

Welcome to the Planters Club

We welcome you all. This is the website of Planters Club Ltd. Located in Dhaka. This is a common platform for social interaction of all tea planters. The people worked in the tea plantations in Bangladesh’.

INTRODUCTION: We cherish the traditional legacy of glorious past and proud history of tea envisioned as “TWO LEAF AND A BUD”. Establishment of tea estate in this part of globe would not have been possible without the hard work, relentless and untiring effort of many known, unknown, local and expatriate tea planters over the years. Those were brave, fearless, tough, fun loving, kind, hospitable and club oriented people. They also made valuable contributions to the neighbor hood society through various benevolent works.
The tea planters have a rich tradition and now we have join hands together to carry it further ahead towards a better future.

BANGLADESH TEA: Bangladesh Tea Industry dates back the beginning of its history around 1835, and with the establishment of first tea estate in 1858. Today, there are 162 estates in the country. Many of these are 150 years old, some are very young. “These enterprises have acquired particular skill, traditions and ethos, and we see ourselves more in the nature of custodian or trustees than as owners.”
We see these assets as living entities towards which we have a responsibility of ensuring continuity, development and progressive growth.

TRIBUTE: We proudly and very fondly remember the planters and their families; who played a pioneering role in establishment of many tea estates. Some of them died for the cause of tea and are resting in peace in different cemeteries in the various tea estates.

We recollect with admiration the contribution of those charismatic planters who carried the tea industry forward during and after the Liberation War in 1971 and thereafter faced challenges, ups and downs by the tea industry until to day.

We regret with deep sorrow the death of those accomplished tea planters who died during this period and no longer with us to day and those who sacrificed their life during the liberation war in 1971.

CONCLUSION: We are pledge bound to work together to strengthen the existing bond of fraternity amongst all the tea planters, carry it forward for the better welfare and a good future, under the one umbrella of Planters Club Ltd, Dhaka.
